Paragliding is a fun and exciting air sport. An experienced commercial pilot, licensed by the FAI and the APVL, will take you on a journey that will allow you to soar above the sacred valley like a condor and experience the beauty of the Inca Empire landscape from the sky. It is recommended to have a light breakfast before.
The flight area is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, about 45 minutes outside of Cusco. You will take off at an altitude of approximately 3,600 to 3,800 meters and then reach heights of up to 5,800m while paragliding. Your actual flight time will depend on weather conditions, and pilots will do their best, even in less than ideal weather conditions (wind, air, clouds, etc.). You do not need to have any prior experience; all you have to do is run for takeoff.
Departure & Return Location:
Pick up from your hotel (8:00 am – 8:30 am).
At 8:00 in the morning, we will move to the area of Chincheros in the upper hills of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We’re going to get there early to catch the rising thermals floating up to the valley walls.
It is the same thermals the condors use to lift them to heaven. The pilot will give instructions in the flight area, talk about weather conditions, and demonstrate how the equipment works. We prepare the paraglider and wait for the perfect moment to take off.
We run and jump over the cornice of the hill; in the air, you will have the most fantastic view of the valley and the landscapes of the Huaypo lagoon. You will be in the air for about 15 minutes to 30 minutes, reaching incredible heights, after all this incredible landing experience.
Return to Cusco in the afternoon. Keep in mind that the activity depends on the weather conditions, so you may have a full day as the last chance to fly is around 4 pm.
