Rainbow Mountain Trek by Cusipata highlights:
We recommend you to be in Cusco at least 2 days prior your trek to be acclimatised to Cusco’s altitude, so that during the tour you won’t have a problem.

We will make the Rainbow Mountain Trek even if your are 2 people only. we won’t cancel your trip!, we are a responsible company with vast experience in the tourism industry, we have the best professional team to make your journey unforgettable.
We come and pick you up at 2:15; this is because our goal is to BEAT THE CROWDS! We will have the mountain for a while just for us (Rainbow Mountain nowadays receives over 1000 people per day), so after everyone is picked up, in about 2 hours we make our way to the breakfast location (Cusipata), we have breakfast at one of the local restaurants there.
Then we keep driving for 1 more hour by unpaved road until Phulawasipata (4.840 m.a.s.l.), from where we start hiking to the rainbow mountain, we get to the summit at around 7 am when the sun is coming up, the hike itself at the beginning is gently uphill and the last part a bit steep. It takes 1.5 hours to get the summit and you will be rewarded with the 360 stunning view of the mountain, before all the tourist arrives.
Our guide will give you enough time and take care about everybody if someone has problems with the altitude; also he will explain you all about this mountain and take you great pictures. Next, on the way back he will lead you to the red valley. The red valley is on the right side of the Vinicunca rainbow mountain, it takes 30 minutes to walk there, it is much less traveled and is even much more impressive than the rainbow mountain, because you will feel like walking on Mars due that there are lots of red mountains.
Subsequently, we hike down to the starting point of the hike; we will see people hiking up while we went down already, going down is much easier than going up. In less than 1 hour we will be at bus station to take our transport back to Cusco. There is a stop for lunch in Cusipata. We stop at the same restaurant to have lunch (good and tasty traditional buffet lunch), there will be toilet facilities too. One of the most amazing places that I have visited in my life. But should be very prepared physically to trek until the top where is 5200mt above sea level.
One of my favourite tour companies I have ever booked with.. was a great service from start to finish… Juve’s knowledge and passion was evident throughout. I would highly recommend this company as the tour are also very small (not a massive group) so you also get a better experience
Fantastic experience but tough to those who are not good at altitude like me. I used a horse to go up to half way for 60 solos, which was helpful. Early start is worth it as not many people around but FREEZING!
breathtaking nature. literally. it’s a high altitude walk. take care. be prepared and you Will be really pleased with the beauty of it.
The climb was so worth it!!! It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Prepare well for the altitude but it is a must visit!
