Have fun trekking with llamas in Maras and Moray; the two days tour to Machu Picchu is perfect if you are looking for an easy trek around Cusco since you will hike just 1.5 hours with our Llama or Alpaca and the path is flat so that you can bring your kids to this trip. You will have great views of the terraces of Moray and the many mountains that Sacred Valley has for you.
Moray is characterized by being made up of several circular platforms and is located at 3,500 meters above sea level. It has about 100 m. of funnel-shaped depth with a diameter of 200 m., more or less at the top, and Salineras is a place where you see the saltwater evaporate, leaving only the salt dry and collected for sale. On the second day, we will visit one of the world’s wonders, “Machu Picchu.”
Departure & Return Location:
Hotel Cusco.
Departure Time:
Pick up from your hotel (7:00 am – 7:30 am).
We will pick you up at 7:00 am from your hotel in Cusco to drive to the sacred valley (Moray). In this place, your guide will explain this beautiful archaeological site that shows us terraces, which served as an experimental agricultural station to develop different strains of crops, using the climates of different ecological zones.
There are large ruins in Moray to impress visitors. Moray is more for the contemplative traveler with an affinity for phenomena such as the Nasca Lines. After visiting Moray, we will go to our ranch, where we will find our llamas or alpacas, and we will explain the facilities and introduce our llamas and alpacas.
It is from Moray, where we will take a walk with our elegant and friendly Llamas to the town of Maras for about 1 hour and a half, at more than 3750 m; the impressive landscapes and the snowy mountains of Chicon, Veronica, and Salkantay are very impressive.
Then we will go to the salt platforms of Salineras (Inca times), which locals still use to extract salt from the mountain spring waters. The saltwater is channeled through a unique irrigation system and left to evaporate in the sun.
Continue the trip to Urubamba for lunch (optional). After lunch, we will go to Ollantaytambo, where the second heaviest Inca monoliths are located. The ruins have an incredible Temple of the Sun, the Moon, and the Temple of the ten niches. This living Inca city exhibits narrow corridors with water channels. If your train departs at 7 pm, you will have time to explore more of the town and enjoy dinner.
If your train leaves at 3:36 pm. We will go to the train station and take the train to Aguas Calientes, where you can dine there (the train schedule will depend on the advance with which you make the reservation and/or the availability of the train).
The trip by train to Aguas Calientes is around two hours, descending towards the cloud forest, where you will see orchids, bromeliads, and ferns. Our representatives will meet you right outside the train station and take you to our hotel upon your arrival.
Today you will visit Machu Picchu. You will visit the famous sacred city of the Incas, the precious stone city of Inca development. With your tour guide, you will decide the best time to start your day. Many people want to ascend at 4 a.m. we will walk to the transport station to take one of the main transports to Machu Picchu.
It can be nice to get to the base in the vestiges when they open, at 6 a.m., to obtain the supernatural mists in the remains when the sun rises. After an hour hike to Machu Picchu, your tour guide will take you to the best prospects before hikers arrive.
At that point, we will begin the guided tour of two hours, investigating most of the renowned places of this great bastion: the Temple of the Sun, the Royal Tomb, the Intiwatana, the Main Square, and the Temple of the 3 Windows. The Artisan Sector, the Temple of the Condor, and many others.
After the visit, you will have a schedule to explore the remains on your own. If you have booked an extra hike to ascend the mountain Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu, you will go to that hike. On the off chance that you have decided not to book an extra walk, you can go to the sun gate and witness its impressive prospects.
Around 2:30 or 3 p.m., you must take the transport to Aguas Calientes to enjoy lunch in one of the numerous restaurants that are there. Make sure you get to the train station 30 minutes early. Our train plan is typically at 4:20 p.m. to Ollantaytambo, where you will receive our private transportation for an additional two-hour trip to Cusco.
