Huchuy Qosqo or Little Cusco is an Inca archaeological site north of Cuzco, Peru. It was originally an administrative and military center around the Sacred Valley and Cusco, with many constructions around it, Inca buildings with a perfect work of fine stones, granary structures called Collqas to store and preserve food, because it was an important agricultural center to produce corn. . It is located at an elevation of 3,650 meters (11,800 feet), above the town of Lamay and the 3,000-meter-high Sacred Valley.
The site received its name in the 20th century, previously known as Kakya Qawani. Pedro de Cieza de León, in his Second Chronicle of Peru, stated that Viracocha, the Eighth Inca Leader, built the palaces. Among many buildings, some stone, some adobe (mud brick), a kallanka (great hall), 40 m long. Providing water to the site is an irrigation canal built by the Incas, lined with stones for about 800m. The site is inaccessible by car road.

The delightful hike to Huchuy Qosqo starts with the pick up of travelers at the hotels in private transport. The drive is one hour to the Andean village of Tauca, the beginning of the day hike from Cusco. Here we start the short trek uphill following a beautiful small side valley; after 3 hours of walk, we will reach the highest point of this one-day hike, there will be impressive views of the mountains on the opposite way. Enjoying our snacks on the highest point, we will keep trekking downhill for 2 hours until we arrive at Huchuy Qosqo. After a short break, our tour guide will show us all the essential structures of this exciting place.
After having our box lunch, we will walk down to Lamay town in the Sacred Valley (3 hours); from here we will drive back to Cusco.
